Bacon Cheddar Franks

Butterball

Butterball Turkey Franks grilled and served on buns, topped with sweet sauteed onions, cheddar cheese and Butterball Turkey Bacon.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 large yellow onions, cut into 1/4-inch thick slices
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 package (16 ounces) Butterball® Bun Size Premium Turkey Franks
  • 8 hot dog buns, split and toasted
  • 16 slices (1/2 ounce each) Cheddar cheese
  • 8 slices Butterball® Turkey Bacon , cooked and chopped

Serving Suggestions
  1. Heat oil in large skillet on medium-high heat.

  2. Add onions, honey, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper. Cook and stir 15 to 20 minutes or until onions are golden brown. Keep warm.

  3. Meanwhile, preheat grill to medium. Grill hot dogs 6 to 10 minutes, turning frequently until internal temperature reaches 160°F.

  4. Place 1 hot dog in each bun. Evenly divide cheese and onions over top of hot dogs. Return to grill to melt cheese, if desired.
