Creole Rice

Butterball

Cooked rice flavored with celery, onions and peppers pairs well with Butterball Smoked Sausage.

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped celery
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped red bell peppers
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 4 cups cooked long grain white rice
  • 1/2 cup chopped parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

Serving Suggestions
  1. Heat olive oil in large skillet on medium-high heat. Add celery, onion, peppers and garlic. Cook and stir 3 to 5 minutes or until vegetables are tender-crisp.

  2. Stir in chicken broth; bring to boiling. Reduce heat; simmer 10 minutes or until the liquid is reduced by half.

  3. Stir in rice, parsley, salt and pepper.
