Mashed potatoes with French Onion Dip, cheese and bacon add interest to this menu basic.

Ingredients

  • 4 pounds peeled cubed Russet potatoes
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 cups (12 ounces) French onion dip
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup (2 ounces) shredded Asiago cheese
  • 2 slices cooked bacon, crumbled

Serving Suggestions
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

  2. Place potatoes in a large saucepan and cover with water. Bring to a boil on high heat. Reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer 15 minutes or until tender. Drain; return to saucepan. Using potato masher, mash potatoes with milk. Blend in dip, salt and pepper.

  3. Place potato mixture in shallow 2-quart baking dish. Sprinkle with cheese and bacon. Bake 20 minutes or until heated thoroughly.
