The Best Turkey, Turkey Chili

A richly flavored, spicy chili made with both Butterball Ground Turkey and Smoked Turkey Sausage.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 pounds Butterball® Fresh Ground Turkey
  • 1 cup chopped yellow onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 4 teaspoons chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano leaves
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 package (14 ounce) Butterball® Smoked Turkey Dinner Sausage , chopped
  • 2 cans (15 ounces each) black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 2 cups chunky salsa
  • 1 can (14 ounce) diced tomatoes & green chilies, undrained

Serving Suggestions
  1. Heat oil on medium heat in stockpot about 1 minute. Add ground turkey, onion, green pepper and garlic. Cook and stir 7 to 8 minutes or until turkey is no longer pink. Stir in seasonings.

  2. Stir in turkey sausage, black beans, salsa and canned tomatoes. Heat to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered, 15 minutes.
