How-Tos
Add Extra Flavor
Brining and Marinating are great ways to add flavor to your turkey before cooking. But what about adding flavor to your gravy and side dishes? Try our tips.
Side Dishes
- To lower fat intake, make mashed potatoes with chicken broth instead of butter or heavy cream.
- Add flavor to steamed vegetables without adding calories by using chicken broth instead of water.
Gravy
- Next time you make gravy, use half the water and replace the other half with wine for a richer, more robust flavor.
- Make gravy just before serving to avoid reheating and scorching.
- When making turkey or chicken gravy, substitute chicken broth for water.
- Make great hot-dipped sandwiches by heating Butterball® Sliced Turkey with already prepared gravy.
- Next time you make a baked potato, top it with gravy. It’s fast, simple and has fewer calories than butter and sour cream!
