Favorite Thing About Turkey Talking:
Carol can’t rave enough about talking turkey. She says her favorite part of the job is talking to the callers. “It’s rewarding to share my knowledge of turkey preparation so that their holiday meal can be memorable. The best day at the Butterball Turkey Talk-Line is Thanksgiving Day. When you answer the phone, you can hear a crowd in the background. When you help solve their problem, you sometimes are treated to a round of applause.”
Most Memorable Call:
Carol remembers a caller with a very straightforward question: “When do I have to put my turkey in the oven so that it’s done at halftime?” Coach Carol huddled with the caller and came up with a game plan. She helped him calculate the time to start cooking based on the time of kickoff, the size of the turkey, and the method of roasting. She suggested he use the Butterball open-pan roasting method, and since he wouldn’t need to baste his Butterball, he could concentrate on the game and his guests.
