Ingredients

  • SICHUAN SPICE BLEND
  • 2 teaspoons Sichuan peppercorns
  • 2 teaspoons Chinese five-spice powder
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • BURGERS
  • 2 BUTTERBALL® Frozen Turkey Burgers
  • 2 slices aged Cheddar cheese
  • CUCUMBER AND SCALLION SLAW
  • 2 mini cucumbers or 1/2 one large cucumber, finely diced
  • ½ bunch scallions, finely sliced
  • 1 clove garlic, finely minced
  • 1-½ teaspoons ginger, finely minced
  • 2 teaspoons rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • SPICY MAYO
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon hoisin sauce
  • ½ teaspoon sriracha sauce
  • 2 potato rolls or burger buns, split
  •  

Directions

  1. Grind all spices in peppermill or coarsely grind with back of skillet. Add 2 tablespoons oil to spices in small bowl to make fragrant paste. Spread evenly on one side of each turkey burger.
  2. Heat grill pan over medium-high heat. Grill burgers spice side down 6 to 7 minutes. Spices will toast and become very fragrant as burgers cook. Flip burgers; cook 6 to 7 minutes. Top each burger with cheese slice during last minute of cooking. Meanwhile, prepare Cucumber and Scallion Slaw and Spicy Mayo.
  3. Toast rolls and spread with Spicy Mayo. Place each cooked burger on bottom bun. Top with Cucumber and Scallion Slaw and top roll.
