Turkey Burgers with Cowpoke Barbecue Sauce

1/4 cup Cowpoke Barbecue Sauce

1 teaspoon vegetable oil

3/4 cup chopped green onions

3 cloves garlic

1 ounce crushed tomatoes

1/2 cup ketchup

1/4 cup water

1/4 cup orange juice

2 tablespoons cider vinegar

2 teaspoons chili sauce

Dash Worcestershire sauce

TURKEY BURGERS

1 package (16 ounces) BUTTERBALL® Fresh Ground Turkey

1 cup whole wheat bread crumbs

1 egg white

1/2 teaspoon dried sage

1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon canola oil

4 whole grain sandwich rolls

Lettuce leaves

Tomato slices

Carrot slices

Directions

  • 1.
    Prepare Cowpoke Barbecue Sauce.
  • 2.
    Combine turkey, bread crumbs, egg white, sage, marjoram, salt and pepper in large bowl until well blended. Form 4 (1/2-inch-thick) patties.
  • 3.
    Heat oil in large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Cook patties 5 minutes per side or until no longer pink and center of burgers reaches 165°F as measured with meat thermometer.
  • 4.
    Place burger on bottom half of each roll. Spoon 1 tablespoon Cowpoke Barbecue Sauce over top of each burger. Cover each with top of roll. Serve with lettuce and tomato. Garnish with carrot slices.
