Maple Mustard Turkey Burger

A tangy maple-mustard glaze is simple to make and gives grilled turkey burgers a nice change of taste flavor. Serve them topped with cheese, lettuce and red onion on brioche rolls.

Ingredients

  • 6 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 3 tablespoons whole grain mustard OR honey mustard
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons lemon zest
  • 1-1/2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper BURGERS
  • 1 package (32 ounces) Butterball® Frozen Original Seasoned Turkey Burgers
  • 12 slices (1/2 ounce each) Cheddar cheese
  • 6 brioche rolls, horizontally split in half, toasted
  • 6 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1-1/2 cups shredded lettuce
  • 12 thin red onion rings
  • 12 slices Butterball Turkey Bacon, cooked, drained

Directions

  1. For the Maple Mustard Glaze, combine all ingredients. Refrigerate, covered, until ready to use.
  2. For the Burgers, cook frozen burgers according to package directions for grilling. After turning burgers over, baste with Maple Mustard Glaze. During last minute of cooking, baste again, and top each burger with 2 slices of the cheese.
  3. For each burger, spread cut surface of bottom half of roll with 1 tablespoon mayonnaise. Top with 1/4 cup lettuce, cheese covered burger, 2 onion rings and 2 slices of bacon. Drizzle with a small amount of Glaze. Cover with top of roll and serve.
