Turkey Bacon Pizza Panini

Ciabatta rolls topped with marinara sauce, fresh basil, 2 Italian cheeses and cooked Butterball® Turkey Bacon cooked in a panini press or skillet. A great new way to use bacon!

Ingredients

  • 4 ciabatta rolls, horizontally split in half
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 cup prepared basil marinara sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 8 medium to large fresh basil leaves
  • 16 mild banana pepper rings
  • 8 ounces fresh Mozzarella cheese, cut into 8 slices
  • 8 slices Provolone cheese (1/2 ounce each)
  • 12 slices Butterball Turkey Bacon, cooked, drained

Directions

  1. Brush top and bottom of each roll with olive oil.
  2. Spread 2 tablespoons of the marinara over cut surface of bottom of each roll. Sprinkle a small amount of the oregano and red pepper flakes over the marinara sauce. Top with 2 basil leaves, 4 pepper rings, 2 slices of each cheese and 3 strips of bacon. Cover with top of roll.
  3. Place in a preheated panini press and cook until golden brown on both sides and cheese is melted. OR place rolls in a large skillet on medium heat. Cook 3 to 4 minutes per side or until rolls are golden brown on both sides and cheese is melted.
  4. Cut rolls in half and serve.
